core.content - Core.web

You can build a whole site using only the core.content module. You’d be tempted to say: that’s cool, but it’s gonna be slim and shaky. But you’d be wrong. It can be a very complex and feature-rich one. The key is in the concept we call nested entities. It’s a bit technical, but we think it’s worth explaining. It means that every content item can be a category (or a section, if you will) or an article. This allows for in-depth content structuring with no limits.

It scales well, and can be integrated with other modules, such as core.polls, core.keywords, core.comments and others…

You might ask, why would I ever need any other module if this one solves all my problems? Well, it depends. core.content might be the only thing you’ll ever need, but if you’re after something really specific like web shop or newsletter, it’s probably better to choose a specific module, since it already has a lot of functionality that you’ll need, and you’ll save money and time that would be spent on extending core.content. It’s a judgment call really, every project is different and needs to be evaluated.
