Nacional 2006 - Web.Burza portfolio

Web site of the well known Croatian weekly magazine Nacional (www.nacional.hr) has been redesigned in December 2006.

It took us approx. 250 working hours, including meetings with the editiorial staff.

Major changes were made on the home page. We reworked the whole logic of featuring news. All of the most popular online categories are now more prominent on the page, and we also saved some extra space by featuring printed issue articles in a Flash rotator.

We developed a 5-column grid system which enables us to expand/narrow various content blocks if required. Most of the image variations now perfectly fit into the columns.

Under the hood, we did some minor adjustments. The front-end markup is reduced and while we were at it, we reduced and optimized SQL queries, too. Such elegant changes were possible thanks to separation of the structure and presentation we did on the previous version.
